Privacy Policy - Pricedrop

This Privacy Policy describes how Pricedrop (Shopify app) handles data when it is installed and used on a Shopify store.

1. Data controller

MuDevel / Mads Uhrenfeldt is the data controller for processing data via the Pricedrop app.

2. What data does Pricedrop access?

When you install Pricedrop on your Shopify store, the app requests the following Shopify scopes:

• read_products, write_products - reads product prices and writes discounted prices when a campaign starts; restores original prices when the campaign ends.
• read_collections - reads collection structure so campaigns can target specific collections.
• read_orders - reads orders within campaign date ranges to calculate revenue and units sold per campaign for reporting.
• read_price_rules, write_price_rules - manages automatic discount rules.
• write_themes (optional) - adds campaign-banner blocks to your storefront if enabled.

Pricedrop does not access personal customer data, payment information, customer addresses, or any identifiable customer details. Order data is only read in aggregate (totals per campaign).

3. What data does Pricedrop store?

For the app to function, the following is stored in our database:

• Shop domain (e.g. your-shop.myshopify.com)
• Shopify access token (encrypted) - allows the app to read products and manage prices
• Campaign configuration (name, start/end dates, discount type, target products/collections, tags)
• Original product prices (snapshot before campaign) - needed to restore prices accurately when a campaign ends
• Aggregated revenue and units-sold metrics per campaign

We do not store customer-identifiable data, individual order line items, customer email addresses, or payment details.

4. What is the data used for?

• Delivering the app's core functionality (scheduling and applying discount campaigns)
• Restoring original prices when campaigns end
• Reporting campaign performance (revenue, units sold, % discount applied)
• Support and troubleshooting when you, as the shop owner, contact us

Data is never used for marketing, sold to third parties, or used for any purpose outside the app's stated functionality.

5. Where is data stored?

Data is stored on servers in the EU (Frankfurt, Germany) at our hosting provider Railway. Daily encrypted backups are taken.

6. Third parties

We use the following data processors:

• Shopify Inc. - the platform the app runs on. See Shopify's own privacy policy at shopify.com/legal/privacy.
• Railway - hosting of the app infrastructure (EU region).

Pricedrop does not use analytics services such as Google Analytics or similar within the app admin.

7. Data deletion on uninstall

When you uninstall Pricedrop from your Shopify store, we automatically receive an uninstall webhook from Shopify. We then delete all data associated with your store within 48 hours:

• Shop domain and access token
• Campaign configurations and price snapshots
• Aggregated metrics

We comply with Shopify's mandatory GDPR webhooks: customers/redact, shop/redact and customers/data_request.

8. Your rights

Since Pricedrop does not process individual customer data, there is no customer data to request access to. As shop owner, under GDPR you have the right to:

• Access the data we hold about your store
• Correction of inaccurate data
• Deletion (achieved by uninstalling the app)
• Data portability (export of campaign configuration)

9. Security

All communication is over HTTPS. Shopify access tokens are stored encrypted. Database access is restricted to the app's runtime environment. Regular security audits and dependency updates are performed.

10. Changes to this policy

If we update this Privacy Policy, the "last updated" date at the top will change. Material changes will be communicated to shop owners by email.

11. Complaints

You may file a complaint with the Danish Data Protection Authority (Datatilsynet) regarding our processing of personal data.
